The New Forest Riding Club has been in existence since the 1980’s.
Previously known as The Forest Ride Group the name changed when we became affiliated to the British Horse Society.
The BHS acts as the governing body to the Riding Clubs in the UK and affiliation provides us with insurance liability cover for our events and the opportunity to take part in national competitions
The New Forest Riding Club has around 150 members, most of whom own and ride their own horses. This also includes some non-horse owners who ride other members’ horses, as well as a number of non-riding members who help to organise events.
The aim of the Club is to provide a central “hub” through which Members can meet other riders and participate in events and training including show jumping, dressage and cross country.
The Club is run by a committee of volunteers. A monthly newsletter is circulated to all Members. This contains details of forthcoming events, results, members’ advertisements and any “literary contributions” from members. Advertising is free to members.
